Four Sunnyvale schools have new faces in administration

The Sunnyvale School District is starting the school year with a new principal at Vargas Elementary School and new assistant principals at Cumberland Elementary, Ellis Elementary and Sunnyvale Middle School.

New Vargas principal Manny Villalpando comes to Sunnyvale from the Alum Rock School District, where he served as a middle school principal. He has also been an elementary school principal in both the Oak Grove School District and the Roseville City School District.

Kelly Mack is Cumberland’s new assistant principal. As a teacher she won several awards, including Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2018 for the Campbell Union School District, and the District SPIRIT Award for Integrity in 2011 and Elementary Teacher of the Year in 2006 from Franklin-McKinley School District.
