2. Mass Transit Railway: Sing Jantzen Tse Solo Exhibition
Artist Sing Jantzen Tse has transformed the front of independent art space Current Plans into an MTR carriage in which visitors can sit. The rumbling of the seats and the sound of a subway train speeding through tunnels under Hong Kong that they hear are highly realistic.
This is not just a fun ride, though. Mass Transit Railway is full of multimedia prompts that make you wonder how we coexist in this congested city, and how to define our home when it is full of contradictions.
Mass Transit Railway: Sing Jantzen Tse Solo Exhibition, Current Plans, 3/F, Remex Centre, 42 Wong Chuk Hang Rd, Wong Chuk Hang. Tues-Sat, 1pm-7pm. Until Sept 8.

4. DB Ice Skating
Looking to beat the heat this weekend? Take the family ice skating at the international-sized DB Ice Rink in Discovery Bay on Lantau Island.
It has four public skating sessions on Saturdays and three on Sundays. The cost is HK$85 (US$11) per session, including skate rentals. To coincide with Sport for All day, it is offering evening sessions at a discounted rate of HK$50.
The rink will also have live streaming of the Olympic Games to keep you abreast of the action in Paris.

5. Yakiniku Horumon Matchan
In the spirit of the Olympics, add this new yakiniku restaurant from Nara, Japan, to your must-eat list. It is known for its muscled staff and unique pull-up challenge that earns diners free meat servings – the more pull-ups you can do, the more premium the cut of meat.
