Thing To Note
According to ACE MF, the multicap category also offered an average return of 21.48% in five years. Multicap schemes were already there, but they were like today’s flexi cap schemes. When Sebi mandated 25% investment in three major capitalisations (large, mid and smallcap) for multicap schemes, there was demand for more freedom to invest. That’s how Sebi introduced flexicap schemes that have the freedom to invest across market capitalisations and sectors/themes. So we did not consider the multicap category as it has not completed five years.
