While Premiership and England football star Marcus Rashford has yet to find his shooting boots for Manchester United, he’s scored on the product front having struck a major deal with Nike.
Rashford has launched his first performance and lifestyle collection — featuring both football boots and apparel — with the US sporting goods giant.
Products in the collection include the Elite, Pro and Academy versions of the Mercurial Superfly football boot. The boot is made with a tonal gradient colour palette inspired by Rashford’s own boots from his playing career as well as graphics representing a sound wave, “a nod to Marcus’s desire to lift up others”.
Off the pitch, the Nike Air Max Pulse trainer features a light-blue gradient on the upper, along with matte-finished leather and technical knits. Its upper brings hints of Mercurial design, while other areas of the shoe add some signature touches, like Rashford’s logo on the tongue.
Elsewhere, there’s a woven tracksuit jacket, tees, intimates and a limited edition football.
Inspirational text, appearing throughout Rashford’s collection, “is grounded in self-belief, which he wants to pass along to all young athletes as they pursue their dreams”, said Nike.
Rashford added that he wants the collection “to encourage young people through their own self-belief, a mindset that propelled him from humble beginnings in Manchester to international stardom”.
Further, he sees the pieces in the collection “as tools that can transport athletes to new heights”, we’re told.
Rashford says: “Just as on the pitch, every moment and detail counts, and I’m proud of how they converged in my first collection with Nike. This is for all those who dream big, work hard, and never stop believing in themselves.”
