In the past, Hirani and SRKcame very close to working with each other on multiple occasions but it seemed they were destined to come together for Dunki.At the recently held event for fans of Shah Rukh Khan, Hirani revealed that the first time he thought of casting SRK was when he hadn’t even become a director.
He shared that when he was studying at film institute, he would wonder who would work with him? He would look at superstars like Mr Amitabh Bachchan and wonder why would stars like him work with him… but one day he ended up watching Circus and in one particular scene he saw a young actor. He was performing a big monologue and he thought this is the guy he will take for his film after his graduation. But it took him two years to graduate and by that time SRK had become a big star!
On the ocassion of his birthday, SRK dropped the first teaser of Dunki, sharing it, he wrote , A story of simple and real people trying to fulfill their dreams and desires.
