The house of Versace has named Rosy Zhao to be its new global brand ambassador, announcing the move on the 25th anniversary of the Chinese actress, TV hostess and singer.
The Milanese fashion house said Zhao’s appointment continues the brand’s vision to elevate and build desire and relatability for Versace in China. Zhao, who also goes by the name Zhao Lusi, began her acting career in 2017. Her natural talent has seen her rapidly rise to become one of China’s leading stars.
Zhao has gone on to play a host of leading roles in television dramas, including in recent hits – the fantasy romance Who Rules the World, historical romance Love Like the Galaxy, and TV drama Hidden Love, one of Netflix’s most watched series of 2023 for which she gained huge international acclaim.
“I am thrilled Rosy is joining our Versace family. I love her style, her energy and her spirit. She is a powerful Versace Woman,” said Donatella Versace in a release.
Rosy has been a keen Versace fan for some time, and the house trumpeted the partnership as a celebration of all those she inspires in her native China and around the world. Zhao has frequently worn Versace, most recently to attend the house’s Spring/Summer 2024 fashion show in Milan.
“The power of Versace is clear to see in the perfectly designed clothes and stunning Italian craftsmanship, but for me, the real power of Versace is how it makes me feel my personal strength when I wear it. Thank you, Donatella, I can’t wait to start this exciting chapter together!” enthused the Chinese star.
