Tamara Ralph Couture Spring 2024 Collection

This season, Tamara Ralph explained she was “very much celebrating strength and femininity. It’s something that I launched with and is continuing through this collection.”

At the same time as she held her runway display, Ralph revealed a collaboration with Audemars Piguet for a limited-edition Royal Oak Concept Flying Tourbillon “Tamara Ralph.” It features an 18-karat frosted pink gold case and will count 102 pieces.

The designer and watchmaker began working together in 2020, when Audemars Piguet models were paired with Ralph’s 2021 designs.

Of her fashion, she said: “This collection is really celebrating craftsmanship and savoir-faire, through generations of couture in my family, and that Audemars Piguet has, as well.”

Ralph added the idea is “to bring those two worlds together and celebrate textures, colors and the craftsmanship behind some metalwork and detailing, which symbolizes feminine strength.”

For this fashion collection, marking the second official season the Tamara Ralph brand has shown in Paris, she used a lot of metallic tones: gold, rose gold and handcrafted metal work.

Those were alongside pastels, meant to connote the soft, elegant side of femininity. Dichotomies abounded, as the designer manipulated metallic tweeds by weaving them with chains and other metalwork “to give them a richness and toughness,” she said.

The same went for the fluid gowns. A draped pink crystal mesh dress was embellished with a rose-gold crystal diamond corset. Ralph fashioned a green-tea pleated gown of taffeta with a corset made of silk and peridot crystal roses.

The woven tweed tailleur in gold, pink and ivory came spangled with gold chains and xilion crystals. That was topped by a golden “cage hat” and metallic belt. A silk faille gown and cape in watermelon was embellished with crystals and striped coque feathers.
