Alessandra Rich this season built an elegant and understated wardrobe for those who are ready to put their party days behind them. Guess as one grows older and wiser, more important things come up in life, like taking the children to church on a Sunday or entering a business meeting with a million-dollar contract in hand.
Where else is better to look than London, where Rich resided for 27 years before relocating to Milan during the pandemic, to capture the transformation in style from an “It” girl to a lady of the manor as she blended a subtle Englishness into her feminine gaze.
Rich proposed check jackets with matching pleated skirts, rose print dresses with lace fringes, knitted separates with hand-embroidered roses, as well as H-shape cocktail numbers. She also offered purposely worn-out-looking leather jackets and tailored trenches to go with a slew of simple yet elegant evening numbers in black and white. Nothing is pink this season.
In case you wonder where the drama went, look no further than the neck and ears. Rich presented a wide range of big earrings and faux pearl necklaces with big stones and sparkly crosses, reminiscent of the Alessandra Rich girl’s hedonistic past.
