New Evercade cartridges are a must for collectors of retro video games | Gaming | Entertainment

The next couple of Evercade cartridges are available to pre-order now. Launching on April 30, Piko Interactive Collection 4 and Sunsoft Collection 2 are available to pre-order from Amazon, where they can be purchased for £17.99 each. A must for retro gaming fans, both collections contain a selection of cult classics and blockbuster hits, not to mention one or two games that never came to the US and Europe, and others that were never released at all. The Piko Interactive Collection 4 even contains the company’s first 64-bit emulated game.

Indeed, the headline game from the new Piko Collection is Glover, which made its N64 debut all the way back in 1998.

Glover is a unique puzzle-platformer in which players attempt to move a ball to the goal using a magical glove.

The video below features an in-depth look at the game, which contains 30 levels spread across six worlds.

Glover will be joined by nine other games, including 16-bit Mario Kart rival Street Racer, as well as Risky Woods, Star X, Mermaids of Atlantis: The Riddle of the Magic Bubble and Bad Street Brawler

That’s on top of old-school platformer Skuljagger, beat-em-up Target Renegade and Game Boy release The Fidgetts.

Personally, I’m really looking forward to playing 16-bit FPS sequel Zero Tolerance Underground, which has only ever been released as part of QUByte’s Zero Tolerance Collection for the Switch and PlayStation.

The Sunsoft Collection 2 also contains some intriguing retro releases, including rare NES platformer Ufouria: The Saga.

That’s on top of the first UK release for Game Boy platformer Pri Pri Primitive Princess, not to mention mid-90s fighting game Galaxy Fight: Universal Warriors, which was originally developed for the Neo Geo MVS.

Other games include the superb Blaster Master Enemy Below, as well as Aero the Acro-Bat 2, Daze Before Christmas and Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel.

If you can’t wait until April 30 for the next Piko and Sunsoft collections, then you might want to check out the newly released Indie Heroes Collection 3 and THEC64 Collection 3.

The new Commodore 64 collection comes with 13 different games, including Boulder Dash, Heavy Metal Paradriod, Summer Games II.

Fingers crossed the next C64 Collection contains platform classic Flimbo’s Quest, which was always a favourite of mine.
