The 25-year-old suffered leg, arm and head injuries when she was hit by the Mazda and was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Witnesses told 7NEWS the Mazda hatchback clipped a four-wheel drive before rebounding onto the bus and latching onto it, with the bus then dragging the car into the shelter.

The driver of the Mazda was trapped in the wreckage as Fire and Rescue NSW worked to cut her out of the vehicle.

She was taken to hospital in a stable condition with arm and neck injuries.

Fifteen people were on board the bus when it crashed, but there were no further injuries.

The driver of the four-wheel drive was assessed at the scene but deemed fit enough to drive away.

The cause of the crash is not yet clear but investigations are continuing.
