Tata Nexon facelift to get Harrier-like split headlamps: Spy shots reveal new front fascia

The regularly spotted test mules confirm that Tata Motors is intensively working on the second facelift for the Nexon, with the updated car expected to arrive in the Indian market very soon. One of the top-selling SUVs in the country, the Tata Nexon is already packed up to the brim with features. However, in a bid to have an upper hand over its rivals, Tata Motors plans to equip the upcoming Nexon facelift with a range of new features, and give it a fresh design to make it look more modern.

The latest Tata Nexon facelift prototype has been caught on cam with its front fascia uncovered, revealing a new front-end design. The Nexon facelift test mules gets a split-headlamp design, similar to what is seen on other Tata SUVs like Harrier, Safari and Punch. The LED DRLs on top are conjoined together with a thick black strip that also houses the Tata emblem up front.
The main headlamp unit is placed slightly lower on the bumper- which is also completely redesigned and adapts a more aggressive look with added black elements. While the rear-end design of the SUV hasn’t been revealed so far, it is expected to get new LED tail lights with a full-width light bar connecting them together. The interior is expected to feature a major overhaul including the addition of a new two-spoke steering wheel with a screen in the middle for an illuminated logo.

Powering the new Tata Nexon will likely be the same 1.5-litre diesel engine as the current model, generating 113 hp of power and 260 Nm of torque, whereas the 1.2-litre turbocharged motor is expected to be replaced with a new engine with the same displacement. The new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 earlier this year, and makes 123 horsepower and 225 Nm torque.
