Princess Beatrice has an immaculately royal style – here’s how to emulate it
Princess Beatrice’s style has evolved through the years, with royal fans anticipating her next appearance for some fashion inspiration.
The Princess of York may not make as many headlines as other senior working royals but she’s previously been branded an “undisputed queen of sartorial savvy” for her unique wardrobe choices.
Beatrice manages to captivate us every time she steps out with her classic, preppy and always royally appropriate pieces.
Now a style expert has analysed Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s daughter’s style and praised the royal for often “pushing the boat out with her fashion choices”.
Here, we take a look at Beatrice’s fashion as Megan Watkins, Head Stylist at online fashion destination SilkFred, helps us pick five key wardrobe essentials to emulate her style.

The belted dress
Princess Beatrice is known for being a fan of “flair, colour and a signature headpiece or two” but she is also a huge fan of the classic belted dress.
Belted dresses can enhance the wearer’s figure by creating a feminine and elegant silhouette.
According to the style expert, royal fans can emulate her look by opting for a style with “puffed sleeves or an interesting collar.”
Ms Watkins said: “There is quite a common theme among the dresses she wears to formal occasions: they often feature a belt. Princess Beatrice has been seen in a belted dress on countless occasions. A belted dress is a great option for creating a feminine and elegant silhouette.
“As the princess has shown us, this is a go-to style that can be worn to formal and less formal occasions. Take a page out of Beatrice’s style book and opt for a style with puffed sleeves or an interesting collar.”

Florals
The princess’s love for dresses doesn’t just stop at belts as she often opts for another theme – florals.
Just in time for spring and summer, floral dresses can add a bit of fun and flair to any outfit.
The style expert said: “We regularly see Beatrice in a floral dress, whether that is for more formal occasions such as the Royal Ascot or for more intimate occasions such as her engagement photos.
“Floral dresses are a great option, especially in the Spring and Summer months. Go for a midi length and pair with some court heels to pull off Beatrice’s signature look.”

Headpieces
Beatrice, along with her sister Eugenie, are known for their love of extravagant headbands, fascinators and hats which can “compliment or create a point of interest” for the outfit.
The stylist claimed that Beatrice often chooses a headpiece that “blends seamlessly with her overall look” and thus creates a “head-to-toe cohesive look, which works well in more formal settings”.
Ms Watkins added: “However, she often chooses a headband or a similar item to add a bit of ‘fun’ to some of her more subdued outfits. We saw her implement this trick earlier this year at Cheltenham Racecourse for a ‘St Patrick’s Thursday’ where she paired a tan coat with a black and gold chequered headpiece.
“This choice of headgear instantly elevated her look. If there’s anything we can learn from Beatrice’s personal style, it would be – if in doubt, put something on your head!”

Puffed sleeves
Beatrice’s feminine and quirky style often extends to wearing a puffed sleeve.
The royal has sported the style on many occasions like at the Gabrielle Chanel exhibit at The V&A in 2023, on the first day of the Royal Ascot the same year and during King Charles’s Coronation.
Ms Watkins said: “She often uses the silhouette to make an outfit more interesting, whilst still being formal.
“Not only does this style off her personal taste and a bit of her personality, this is a perfect silhouette for those among us who want to be modest yet fashion forward.”

Nude pumps
To complete Beatrice’s signature style, one should invest in a good quality pair of nude pumps, according to the style expert.
Nude pumps are “essential to any wardrobe” and can be worn with a variety of different outfits, styles and colours.
The style expert concluded: “Lastly, if you want to truly emulate Princess Beatrice’s style, it’s important to invest in some good old nude pumps.
“Worn with a variety of different styles and colours, a nude pump has become Princess Beatrice’s shoe of choice. Whether she’s attending the Royal Ascot or Wimbledon, Beatrice will reach for these closed-toe shoes that are versatile and won’t take away from the main event: the dress and/or headpiece.
“A classic neutral pump is essential to any royal wardrobe and, just like Beatrice, we’re sure you’ll find yourself reaching for these shoes again and again.”
