New Delhi: Social Media giant Meta at its annual business messaging event ‘Conversations’ announced that Meta Verified will be introduced on WhatsApp Business for users in India, Indonesia, and Colombia. This subscription-based service was only limited to Facebook and Instagram users after launching in September 2023.
Meta Verified will provide its subscribed merchants a verified badge and safety from impersonators after checking the authenticity of the business.
What is Meta Verified for WhatsApp Business
Meta Verified is a subscription-based service for businesses and creators that authenticates their credibility on Meta-owned apps. This service gives proof of authentication to the businesses so the customers can easily trust them without being fearful of fraud.
This service is already available on Instagram and Facebook and is set to be launched for WhatsApp businesses as well.
Features of Meta Verified for WhatsApp Business
The subscribed users will get a badge (blue tick) of authentication which certifies the official social media handle of the business. This badge appears right next to the business name on their WhatsApp account and channels to ensure the users that this business has registered their information with Meta.
The business with a Meta Verified subscription can create a custom web page with their business details for the customers and vendors. Moreover, they will also be able to log in to their account from multiple devices.
Meta Verification will also ensure the safety of businesses from the threats of impersonation by someone else.
New Features of Meta Verified for WhatsApp Businesses
Meta is also rolling out some new features for WhatsApp Business. It will provide call support for larger businesses. This new feature provides the ability to customers to directly reach out to the company for customer-care support. This feature can be availed along with the chats option.
Meta said that it is also planning to integrate AI to answer the “most popular questions businesses received on WhatsApp”. The social media giants are hopeful that AI will be able to better assist the customers of the businesses. It will also help the customer in finding new products that they might be interested in.
