New York: Jay Shah couldn’t keep his calm as the BCCI secretary was spotted celebrating wildly in the stands after India kept upper hand against Pakistan in T20 World Cups. Facing each other in the marquee T20 World Cup 2024 clash at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, Rohit Sharma’s men eked out a clinical six-run win over the arch-rivals to extend their record at 7-1. With two losses in as many games, Pakistan are on the verge of elimination from the group stage.

In a video that went viral on social media, Shah was celebrating throwing his fists wildly and also encouraged the whole 34000 crowd to join the celebration as India went atop the table with four points from two games. He was also joined by BCCI president Roger Binny, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla and IPL chairman Arun Singh Dhumal.

Also in the same VIP stand were India’s travelling reserves Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed.
