Margot Robbie has found new fashion inspiration, and it’s—your dad. The actor’s days of Pepto Bismol pink are behind her; now, she’s embracing neutrals and oversized suiting.
Last week in Manhattan, Robbie opted for what my British Vogue colleague Daniel Rodgers referred to as “monochromatic greige” in an oversized blazer, ultra-light wash denim jeans, a khaki Yankees baseball cap, and a nude leather purse.
This past weekend, Robbie traded Barbie for Miami Vice. Over a body-hugging white top, she wore another greige ensemble, a billowing suit complete with a shoulder-padded blazer and wide-legged trousers. Leaning into the masculine look, she also accessorized with some dad-friendly pieces: a black baseball cap and chunky white New Balances. (While she looks like she could run a grill station like the Navy, she told Vogue that she’s accidentally set fire to three Christmas hams. “Everything lights on fire in the kitchen. I’m not even kidding,” she said in her summer 2023 cover story.)

Leaving her New York hotel alongside her husband, Tom Ackerley, Robbie pushed a navy blue Away suitcase. And while she opted for a logo-free look, she was toting a large shoulder bag with a telltale intrecciato weave: the Bottega Veneta Gemelli, a half-moon-shaped purse made of a dark brown leather. Dad doesn’t carry an It-bag very often, but Margot Robbie’s made the case that perhaps he should.
