CLOCKED OUT: Time waits for no man — or front row guest — and neither does Rick Owens. The designer’s theatrical fashion epic at Palais de Tokyo started before the biggest celebrity invitees had arrived.

“I just flew in this morning, and the traffic was unbelievable,” Dave Chappelle told WWD after the show. He had watched it from behind a rope at the entry gate, alongside Maluma and Michelle Wolf. Chappelle added that he “loved” the show as he headed backstage to greet Owens.

With 200 models walking in groups of uniform looks, Owens needed lots of time to set the stage for a tableau of cinematic and otherworldy ascetic outfits. All of the looks were cream and it was one of the few shows that was truly inclusive, with models of all shapes, colors and ages walking side-by-side.

Maluma hit the show in an all-white look, while others were clad in Owens’ traditional black. Lil Baby was in a head-to-toe leather look, shrugging his jacket alternatively on-and-off in the direct midday sun.

“It’s hot. I’m trying to shed some calories before the summertime,” he joked. “Leather on leather and more leather. I’ve got a leather obsession. He means a lot to me, especially where I come from, it’s always been a staple; it’s always been something you can hang your hat on.”

The Grammy winner said he isn’t working on any new music at the moment, instead concentrating on his own fashion line 1 Million the Brand, which he launched in 2022.

Vetements designer Guram Gvasalia sat with Michèle Lamy, and shoe designer Bruno Frisoni also made the show.
