McDonald’s has confirmed that it will launch a $5 Meal Deal on Tuesday, June 25.
The move has been expected since mid-May, but the fast food giant is just now releasing the details as part of a “Summer of Value” promotion.
The $5 deal will be available for a limited time and include a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, four-piece Chicken McNuggets, and a small soft drink.
But in small print on the news release, it says McDouble meal options may be priced at $6 at select restaurants in California and other locations including Nevada, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii and Guam.
The promotion also includes “Free Fries Fridays” for McDonald’s App users. They can get a free medium order of fries every Friday for the rest of the year with a minimum $1 purchase.
Some Southern California franchisees will have their own offers, such as $1.49 soft drink specials, according to an email accompanying the news release.
In more fine print, the news release reads, “Local deals and offers will vary, as McDonald’s franchisees are independent business owners who set their own pricing.”
Also on Thursday, Wendy’s announced it will be giving its app users a free small Frosty with the purchase of a Biggie Bag through June 30. Like McDonald’s deal, Biggie Bags include a sandwich, four-piece Nuggs, fries and a small soft drink.
Burger King launched its own $5 Your Way Meal last week. Again, it has a sandwich, chicken nuggets, fries and a drink.
