Number Of Toppers Down To 17 From 61; Check Re-Revised Scorecard Here

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the final results of the controversy-ridden NEET-UG medical entrance examination, declaring that 17 candidates have shared the All India Rank 1, down from 61 in the revised results, while thousands of others have seen their marks and rankings change significantly. According to the NTA NEET UG Revised Result PDF, the number of qualifying candidates and the cut-off have also significantly declined.

The NTA has provided All India Rank to the candidates and the admitting Authorities will draw a merit list based on All India Rank for the seats of MBBS/BDS falling under their jurisdiction. When candidates apply to their State, they will mention their category as per the State Category List. State Counselling Authorities will accordingly make their Merit List. The same is the case with the domicile.

NEET Result: Number of toppers down to 17 from 61

The “re-revised” results were announced three days after the Supreme Court rejected multiple petitions calling a NEET-UG 2024 retest because of alleged paper leaks and other malpractices. However, the top court instructed the NTA to revise the merit list due to a controversial physics question that had two possible answers. The correct option was recommended by a three-member expert panel established by the Apex Court.

This led to a comprehensive revision of NEET ranks and scores for all 2.3 million students. As a result, the scores of at least 420,000 students, including 44 of the 61 students who had achieved a perfect score of 720, dropped by five points, as the court nullified the disputed marks they received for the Physics question. Currently, the exact impact on their rankings is not immediately clear.

This time, seventeen candidates retained the perfect 720 marks and were declared the toppers, followed by six who scored 716, and 77 with 715 marks, which forms the cohort of top 100 candidates.

The National Testing Agency conducted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) for more than 24 lakh candidates at 4750 different Centres located in 571 Cities throughout the country including 14 Cities outside India on 05 May 2024 (Sunday) from 02:00 P.M. to 05:20 P.M.(IST). The re-examination of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) [NEET (UG)] – 2024 was conducted on 23 June 2024 for 1563 candidates who had experienced time loss during the originally scheduled examination on 05 May 2024.
