Woolworths home brand tasty cheese blocks will be identically reduced from Thursday.
Coles chief commercial officer Anna Croft said Coles is “committed to lowering the cost of everyday essentials for our customers and have further invested to put another family staple in our Down Down pricing range to offer greater value”.
“We’re working hard to deliver value for customers every time they shop with us,” Woolworths said.
Coles also revealed customers preferred the “humble but mighty block”of cheese, with 40 per cent of shoppers opting for the block compared with 27 per cent who prefer to buy sliced cheese, and 25 per cent who buy shredded.
More than 20,000,000kg of cheese is sold at Coles each year, including 4,000,000kg of its home brand cheese blocks.
The cheese on sale at Coles joins 500 other products reduced under the supermarket’s “Down Down” pricing.
