“The automobile ancillary units in the Kolhan division are looking for new avenues for expansion and the proposed green fuel facility will open up new vistas for the local industry,” said Santosh Khetan, a seasoned entrepreneur and past president of ASIA. He added, “Initially, the business prospects will be limited but it will gradually help local entrepreneurs expand the facility in the coming years.”
Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Vijay Anand Moonka, who was present at the MoU signing event at the industry department office, said the TGESPL’s proposed plant will bring investment, business and jobs for the locals. “The joint venture company has announced to invest Rs 350 crore to set up the plant but in the second phase, we are expecting more investments during the expansion of the plant. It would be an advantage to the automobile parts manufacturers of the Kolhan division. Around 1,000 people will get jobs directly and indirectly,” Moonka said, adding, “After a long time, there is an investment coming to the industrial town. We all welcome it.”
Industrialist Mahesh Sonthalia, who owns a pig iron unit in Adityapur industrial area, said the local industry is eager to get transformed to the new-age business environment. The landmark initiative of the government to establish the hydrogen engine facility will bring new openings for the SME industry. The Laghu Udyog Bharati Jamshedpur president, Amlesh Jha, said production of the hydrogen engines for smaller vehicles will pave the way for the unexpected growth of the automobile ancillary industry.
Notably, Soren announced at the MoU signing programme that the plant will manufacture hydrogen engines for smaller vehicles in later phases.
