Sisters tie a holy thread called a “Rakhi,” symbolising their love and prayers for their brothers’ well-being, around their wrists during this festival. Brothers swear to guard their sisters all their lives and present presents in exchange. Celebrated with happiness and excitement throughout India and among Indian communities all around, the event strengthens the emotional link between siblings.
