(NewsNation) — Tom Cruise may have wowed the world last week when he jumped from the top of the Stade de France in Paris, grabbed the Olympic torch from Simone Biles and sped off in a motorcycle (presumably to Los Angeles), but one person was not impressed: His daughter, Suri.
“Suri will likely never have a relationship with Tom,” one former friend of the action star said.
“When Katie left him it was around the time that Suri would have been sent off to Scientology ‘school’ — and Katie wasn’t having that. But if you’re not a Scientologist, other Scientologists can’t associate with you… even if it’s your child.”
Tom Cruise and Suri’s rocky relationship
Cruise hasn’t been seen or photographed with Suri Cruise in over a decade, preferring to lavish attention on his two adopted children with Nicole Kidman, Isabella and Connor, instead. Both Isabella and Connor are deeply ensconced in Scientology.
Cruise doesn’t seem to be making any effort to be a part of Suri Cruise’s life. While Suri Cruise graduated from high school, he attended a Taylor Swift performance in London instead. This summer as she prepares for her freshman year at Carnegie Mellon, he was all over the Olympics in Paris, posing with athletes and preparing for his stunt… instead of being there for his daughter.
Meanwhile, social media slammed Cruise and his stunt. One X user wrote: “How does Tom Cruise manage to be held in highest public esteem when he is a leading player in Scientology?!?! I don’t get it at all. Just remarkable,” Another wrote of Cruise and Scientology, which is considered a cult in France: “I love how America just acts like Tom Cruise isn’t like the icon of Scientology.”
A rep for Cruise didn’t return calls.
