How much did you lose in how many days?

I lost 12 kg in 5 months and have maintained the same weight since then

What was your motivation behind weight loss?

My pregnancy journey 6 years ago was very challenging. I spent two days in ICU after my delivery and faced many health issues. I didn’t have strength to hold my 2.5kg daughter when she was born, and my mom was my pillar of support. I eventually recovered but gained 15kg from my normal weight, which led to wheezing, severe lower back pain, decreased self confidence. Despite not leaving my job, with my mom’s support and motivation, and driven by my 5-year-old daughter (who was a year old when I started my weight loss journey), I finally achieved my goal. My guru, Namrata, who is a huge source of inspiration and my driving force, also played a crucial role in helping me return to my normal weight.

What was your weight loss diet (what drinks you had, did you eat fruits etc) and routine?

Honestly, I love to taste different kids of foods. During my weight loss, I had just cut down junk food and sweets particularly. However, I still indulge occasionally, but with restrictions. I limit the quantity and split it into smaller portions throughout the day. To satisfy my sweet cravings, I opt for dry grapes, and for savory cravings, I enjoy sauteed mixed seeds. I also include a lot of seasonal fruits at regular intervals. Coffee or tea with jaggery once a day is also part of my daily routine.

Did you completely cut-down on sugar?

I use Jaggery always and have not touched white sugar at all for the past 3 years.

Did you have cheat meals? If yea, then how many times in a week? What is your go-to cheat meal?

I love Biriyani and have it once a week. I also enjoy pizza once a month, which is my favourite. The following day, I ensure to have balanced meal and never miss my workout.

What is one rule that you abide by for losing weight?

Never miss your workout. That’s the most important rule which I follow

What was one thing that worked best for you?

Namrata from DtF, whitefield Bangalore is one of a kind. She is such a sweetheart and very dedicated trainer. Her inspirational qualities and amazing mentorship create a magical atmosphere in the studio. The positive vibes and motivation she brings have truly worked wonders for me.

One challenge that you faced and how did you overcome it?

Initially, I struggled with severe wheezing and could barely move more than 10 steps due to my weight. With constant encouragement and motivation from Namrata, I was able to increase my endurance. Now I can lift my 6-year-old daughter, who weighs 21 kgs, on my back and I’m able to walk, job briskly, and complete a full hour of workout exercises. This improvement has also positively impacted my sleep routine.

Is there a weight loss myth that you got to know about during your journey?

The idea that you should eat less is a myth I’ve often heard. Instead, I focused on eating right and maintaining my workout routine.
