Kendra Frazer identified as 39-year-old woman who died on first day of Burning Man festival 2024

A woman who died on the first day of the Burning Man festival in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert has been identified by police as 39-year-old Kendra Frazer.

The festival goer was found unresponsive at the temporary city erected for the annual festival about 11.30am on Sunday, but attempts by responding emergency services to save her life were unsuccessful.

Frazer’s family has been notified of her death, The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Burning Man event team shared their condolences to those who knew Frazer, and offered support to festival goers who remain at the event which runs until September 2.

“Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends affected by this loss,” event organisers from Burning Man Project said.

“The safety and well-being of our staff and community are paramount. We are cooperating fully with local authorities as they investigate this incident.”
