Fabulous dinners are the norm at the 81st Venice Biennale, where securing an invitation demands both the endurance of an Olympic athlete and the right connections. One of the most coveted events at this year’s edition was the intimate gathering hosted by Miuccia Prada at Ca’ Corner della Regina last night, celebrating Miu Miu Women’s Tales #28 and the screening of El Affaire Miu Miu, a film by Argentinian director Laura Citarella commissioned by the brand. It was presented as part of the Giornate degli Autori program together with last year’s short movie I Am The Beauty of your Beauty, I am the Fear of your Fear by Malaysian director Chui Mui Tan.

The dinner at Fondazione Prada’s Venetian outpost was brimming with star power. Guests had the unique opportunity to explore Christoph Büchel’s exhibition, “Monte di Pietà,” which recreates a fictitious bankruptcy pawn shop modeled after the original layout of Venice’s historic Monte di Pietà. Emma Corrin, Rami Malek, Benedict Cumberbatch, Harris Dickinson, Louis Partridge, and Olivia Rodrigo, among others, marveled at the immersive installation before indulging in a Venetian menu served in the palazzo’s stuccoed top-floor salons, with a breathtaking view overlooking the magical Grand Canal.
