In BJP manifesto, Olympic nurseries, free dialysis & development boards for Haryana’s 36 biradaris

Gurugram: Olympic games nurseries in each district, dialysis in state-run hospitals free of cost and separate development boards for each of Haryana’s 36 biradaris (dominant caste groups) are among promises the BJP has made in its manifesto for the assembly elections.

On Thursday, BJP president J.P. Nadda unveiled the manifesto in Rohtak. Besides government jobs for Agniveers, it promises monthly assistance of 2,100 to women—100 more than what the Congress has promised.

Additionally, gas cylinders at 500 apiece are among the 20 key promises made by the BJP in its manifesto for Haryana. The Congress, which released its manifesto the previous day, has made the same promise.

“What was Haryana’s image 10 years ago? Jobs were secured through recommendations and bribes. People were even punished because of job-related corruption. Haryana was notorious for land scams. Their real manifesto was the land scam, where farmers’ land was grabbed, and its classification altered,” he said, taking aim at Congress and the Chautalas.

Union minister and former Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, BJP’s incharge for Haryana Satish Poonia, state election incharge Dharmendra Pradhan, and other prominent leaders were also present at the event.

Describing BJP’s manifesto as a ‘serious’ document, Nadda said the party’s opponents have diluted the concept of a manifesto.

“For the BJP, the manifesto is a serious document. We deliver what we promise. You can see clearly how Haryana has been transformed. Its exports have grown from 68,000 crore in 10 years to over 2.5 lakh crore. Earlier, there were only seven medical colleges; today, there are 15. Number of MBBS seats has increased from 700 to over 2,000. Ten years ago, only 500 villages had round-the-clock power supply; today, 5,800 villages have it.”

Haryana BJP chief Mohan Baroli said, “Whatever is included in this manifesto will be implemented once we form the government. Promises made in 2014 and 2019 manifestos have been fulfilled over the past 10 years. The atmosphere in Haryana is in favour of BJP.”

O.P. Dhankar, chairman of the Haryana BJP’s manifesto committee, said the panel received more than 2 lakh suggestions, visited every district and made attempts to engage with all sections of society. The people of Haryana, said CM Saini, trusted the BJP for 10 years because of its track record of fulfilling promises.
