The government of Uttar Pradesh may decided to hike the Dearness Allowance (DA) in near time.
7th Pay Commission Update: In a good news for the government employees of Uttar Pradesh, the Uttar Pradesh government is reportedly planning a significant announcement, a treat for its substantial workforce of 1.5 million personnel and 800,000 pension receivers just before the festivities of Diwali. This revolves around a projected rise of 4 percent in their dearness allowance (DA).
Additionally, whispers are there about the declaration of a bonus for the non-gazetted employees. This decision, expected to be made under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, seems to tread the path of the central government’s prior resolution of DA increase, speculated to be proclaimed towards the end of September or the onset of October.
The government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to hike the Dearness Allowance (DA), a move set to benefit around eight lakh of its employees. While the decision is welcomed by the workers, it comes with an additional burden of INR 3,000 crores on the state exchequer.
Moreover, there’s good news for the non-gazetted employees too, as they are in line for a bonus. This additional compensation will be calculated based on their basic pay plus the DA. Last year, the bonus amount averaged around INR 7,000, and it’s predicted to be marginally more this time around.
