Pack your bags! The much-loved travel series Great Outdoors is returning to the Seven Network.
The show will feature presenters James Tobin, Phil Burton, Teigan Nash, Kimberley Busteed, Lee Carseldine and Chris Parsons showcasing the best of Australian and international travel.

Viewers can expect to be brought along for the ride as the intrepid hosts go diving off the Western Australian coast, trek the deep forests of Tasmania; enjoy a classic convertible road trip along the iconic Route 66 in the US; and scale the snow-covered heights of northern Europe.
The Great Outdoors was broadcast on the Seven Network from 1993 until it was axed in 2009.
James Tobin, best known as Weekend Sunrise’s weatherman, said: “I grew up watching The Great Outdoors and still can’t quite believe I’ve now got one of the best gigs on TV as I share these incredibly unique travel destinations with our viewers.
“Filming in the US was a real highlight of this series for me and I can’t wait to show viewers what we got up to over there.”
Meanwhile, Phil Burton, co-founder and member of pop group Human Nature, said: “I’ve travelled the world with my music, but what I realised through filming The Great Outdoors is some of the hidden gems we have right here in Australia.
“Having the opportunity to delve into Western Australia in a way I’d never seen it before was an incredible opportunity and I couldn’t be more delighted to be part of the show.”
Meet the presenters
James Tobin
James Tobin is one of the best known faces on Australian television and is currently the weather presenter for Weekend Sunrise, where he is seen roving around the country meeting the locals and delivering the forecast.
Throughout his career, James has been a supporter of various charities and community organisations including Tour de Cure and McGrath Foundation.
Now in his role with The Great Outdoors, James will continue to travel the country and the world to share his enthusiasm for adventure with viewers.
Phil Burton
Phil Burton is one of Australia’s most loved and respected entertainers. The multi-talented singer, arranger, live performer and media personality has been a vital part of the entertainment industry in Australia and internationally for over three decades.
Phil is a co-founder and member of one of the world’s finest pop vocal groups – Human Nature – and in 2023 took home the Mirror Ball Trophy as the winner of Dancing With The Stars.
More recently, he joined The Morning Show as a casual host and now The Great Outdoors as a seasoned adventurer, having travelled all around the world with his music.
Kimberley Busteed
From pageant queen to outdoor adventurer, and now cattle farmer, Kimberley Busteed has had an extraordinary media career lasting almost two decades.
The Australian media personality, lifestyle television presenter and producer hit the international stage after winning the title of Miss Universe Australia aged just 18.
Just as comfortable hosting black-tie gala balls as she is scuba diving, Kimberley has spent the past 18 years working across various media networks and has her heart firmly embedded in her role as a presenter on Seven’s Creek to Coast, Weekender and now The Great Outdoors.
Teigan Nash
Teigan Nash is a popular media personality and presenter across Seven’s travel shows Sydney Weekender, Weekender and Discover.
She has worked in the television industry for many years, first gracing Aussie screens on Seven’s Saturday Disney.
Teigan has also reported for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Spring and Autumn Racing Carnivals, and appeared in guest spots on morning shows.
Lee Carseldine
Lee Carseldine’s life has been non-stop since concluding his professional cricket career. After playing 132 matches for Queensland, as well as around the globe, Lee founded a highly successful drone pilot training business and gym and became an accomplished entrepreneur, all while completing his double masters.
He also appeared twice, including as runner-up, on Australian Survivor and has continued his media career as a lifestyle TV presenter ever since.
Lee can currently be seen bringing his cheeky sense of humour to stories on Seven’s Creek to Coast, Weekender and now The Great Outdoors.
Chris Parsons
Chris Parsons is an accomplished traveller and TV presenter, having covered thousands of kilometres to bring viewers the very best adventures on Seven’s Creek to Coast and Weekender.
A skilled MC, Chris has also hosted numerous events and functions including the Australian and Queensland Tourism Awards, the Tourism and Events Development Conference, and live sporting events and festivals, while representing charities such as The Forgotten Women as ambassador.
Chris can also be seen as a guest contributor on The Morning Show, presenting The Lotto, and now joins The Great Outdoors, where he will keep clocking up those kilometres in his travels.
The Great Outdoors premieres on Saturday, October 5 at 7pm AEST on Channel 7 and 7Plus.
