Recently, globally prominent UX artist Junru Xu’s project Milky Way in the City has been selected for a digital exhibition by “The Holy Art” in London and Athens. The show runs on the 20th of September 2024 at 21-31 Shacklewell Ln E8 2DA, London, and Praxitelous 26, 105 61, Athens, Greece.

Junru Xu’s user-centered interactive project Milky Way in the City articulates and explores the interaction between the dead and the living, pushing the boundaries of death while offering a thoughtful user experience design solution to memorialize loved ones and families. The memorial space is crafted from hundreds of independent modular graves, where ashes are transformed into luminous substances. People interact with these holy lights, drawing inspiration and memories of their loved ones from the other world.
This project delves into the concept of facing death without fear, highlighting that death isn’t the end. By fostering remembrance, it unites people and ensures that the departed remain a vital part of the community.
Moreover, Junru’s Milky Way in the City project has also been chosen to be featured through The Holy Art Gallery in Paris from September 13th to the 15th, in Barcelona from October 6th to 10th, and in London and Athens on October 11th. Her award-winning project YOYO was exhibited as an outstanding good design at MOOD museum between 07/18 TO 07/25 2024 in Sala Bianco del Teatro, Italy, while her UX project Wantiii was selected for presentation at Memor Museum in NYC. Her Red Dot Award-winning concept design project Hear Me will be showcased at the prestigious Red Dot Design Museum in Singapore, highlighting her innovative approach to inclusive technology and user experience.
Junru Xu has already achieved remarkable success in the UX industry with her exceptional design talents.
