Born into an orthodox Brahmin family, Surabhi Gautam hailed from the Amdara village in the Satna district of Madhya Pradesh and completed her schooling at the village school.

Hailing from a small village in Madhya Pradesh, IAS officer Surabhi Gautam has a remarkable background. Her father practices law at the Maihar court in MP, and her mother, Dr. Sushila Gautam, is a high school teacher. Surabhi completed her education at a government school in her village, which struggled to provide basic amenities, and she attended a Hindi medium school.

However, IAS Officer Surabhi Gautam was undeterred by these challenges in pursuing her dreams. A dedicated student, she achieved an impressive 93.4% in her class 10 board exams, earning perfect scores of 100 in both Maths and Science. Her exceptional performance placed her on the state merit list for both the 10th and 12th grades.

After finishing her class 12, IAS officer Surabhi Gautam successfully passed the State Engineering Entrance Examination with impressive marks and enrolled in Electronics and Communication Engineering at an engineering college in Bhopal. Despite grappling with an inferiority complex due to her limited English speaking skills, she refused to let it hinder her progress.
