From Wicked Pink to the Season’s Many Miuccia-isms—13 Street Style Trends From the Spring 2025 Ready-to-Wear Season

It’s impossible not to look at the spring 2025 season’s street style trends as a reflection of the year we’ve been living through. Americana was a big trend this year—and not just because Ronald van der Kemp brought his couture collection to New York, or because we are still feeling the effects of Cowboy Carter and Pharrell’s Wild West Vuitton collection, but because Jenna Lyons and Eva Chen took to the streets to show their support for Vice President Kamala Harris in the viral camo hat.

We’ve long known that Miuccia Prada is one of the most influential women in fashion, but this season in particular, street stylers were very attuned to the Miuccia-isms. We saw an influx of Oxford and polo shirts—styled the Miu Miu way, with the collars layered over coats and shirts to create a cool doubled effect. The rainy weather this month meant that many showgoers were probably thankful that Mrs. P and her co-creative director Raf Simons gave their stamp of approval on the cocktail dress and nylon jacket combo. Windbreakers likely saved more than a few fashion week ’fits.

You can always sense a pop culture influence in street style (remember the year Barbie pink ruled our lives?), and this September was no different. Blame it on Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande’s long-awaited turn in Wicked, which will premiere at the end of November, but there was a lot of Glinda baby pink on the streets. Will we see an equal amount of Elphaba green next season? We’ll just have to wait and see.
