SmallRig’s deals are part of Amazon Prime Day, which runs October 8-9. There are tons of products included, but there are a few battery, tripod, lighting, cage, mobile video, follow focus, and magic arms worth calling attention.
First up are SmallRig’s VB99 series V-mount batteries which PetaPixel‘s Jordan Drake is particularly fond of. During Prime Day, the VB99 Pro mini, the VB99 mini, and the VB99 SE mini V-mount batteries are all 25% off, discounted to $187.49, $149.99, and $112.49, respectively.
The VB99 Pro is an upgrade over SmallRig’s VB99 and brings more interfaces into the lithium ion battery. It uses an intelligent chip that allows it to support up to 100W of bi-directional fast charging and can be fully charged in about 2.5 hours but 10 minutes of charge allows it to bring two hours of power, which is a reduction over the previous version of 30%. A 10 minute charge of the VB99 Pro gives it enough juice to power a Sony Alpha 7C for 2.25 hours and it can charge a MacBook Pro from 0% to 57% in just 30 minutes.
Next are tripods, and SmallRig’s FreeBlazer Carbon Fiber tripod kit and the Heavy Duty Fluid Head AD-01 tripod are both 20% off, on sale for $319.12 and $127.99.
On the lighting front, SmallRig has a large assortment of options available at steep discounts. Of those, four stand out to us (and are all 20% off). The RC 60B COB LED Video Light is down to $159.20, the RC 220 Point-Source Video Light is down to $295.20, and the SmallRig RT25 Handheld Tube Light Battery Grip Version is $143.99. There is one more worth highlighting, mostly because it’s under $20: The P96 Video LED Light is also on sale, down to $17.52.
