Man and woman allegedly doused in petrol at Peak Hill club in NSW’s Central West

A 28-year-old man has been accused of a horrifying petrol attack at a club in the Central West of NSW at the weekend.

He walked into the venue on Caswell St at Peak Hill, 186km northwest of Bathurst, and allegedly doused a 50-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man with petrol about 5.40pm on Sunday.

He also allegedly poured petrol over the floor of the club before he was chased out.

“The club was evacuated as a precaution,” NSW Police said.

“The man and woman were assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics, and didn’t require treatment.”

The 28-year-old man was arrested a short time later on Mingelo St.

He was taken to Parkes Police Station and charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm, possess explosive with intention to destroy others property, throw/lay down explosive with intent to maim/do grievous bodily harm, excluded person fail to leave premises when required, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm and destroy or damage property.

He appeared before Dubbo Local Court on Monday, where he was refused bail to appear at Parkes Local Court on Tuesday.
