The Sorel x Proenza Schouler mule

In an age when every second fashion brand and race car driver wants a sneaker collab’, this linkup stood out as a cooler blend of artistry and practicality.

The link-up first debuted on Wednesday, September 4 in the latest runway show by Proenza Schouler, staged inside the New York Mercantile Exchange Building. Part of a paired-back fashion statement, featuring craft treatments – abstract, painterly garment printing, organza tubes filled with air as extreme fringe, feather embellished fabrics, and stripes, attributed to Barnett Newman.

In effect, this new footwear collection of Sorel x Proenza Schouler translates the function of the classic Caribou – both mule and Chelsea boot – into elevated, everyday styles for city living. The designs are crafted from a sleek leather in a palette of black, ochre and ecru.

Each shoe features signature Proenza Schouler heavy contrast stitch for detailing, with a custom back logo tab.

The Caribou Mule and Caribou Chelsea Boot will be priced at £135 and £360 respectively and will be available to purchase in the on  Net-A-Porter, sorelfootwear.co.uk and Proenza Schouler’s own e-tailing site.
