Zendaya Is Giving Cher in Vintage Bob Mackie at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

The queen of method dressing may have just outdone herself. Tonight, Zendaya paid homage to Cher at the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction in Cleveland, Ohio.

It’s no small feat to induct Cher into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but Zendaya and her longtime stylist, Law Roach, were more than up to the task. The two turned to one of the singer’s most famous collaborators: Bob Mackie. The American designer is responsible for some of Cher’s most iconic style moments, from the towering feather headpiece and zig-zagging two-piece she wore to the 1986 Oscars to her feather- and sequin-festooned naked dress.

Roach shared on Instagram that they decided on a piece from Mackie’s archive for the occasion, landing on his fall 2001 couture collection, dubbed “Foreign Intrigue.” She wore a nude, ab-baring halter dress with slinky criss-crossing straps. The hand-beaded dress is covered in rhinestones and gold and white bugle beads, making her shimmer from head to toe. She also added the accompanying white silk satin trench coat which is embroidered with the same embellishments as her dress.

No Zendaya look is complete without a pair of sky-high Christian Louboutins—tonight, a gold metallic pointy-toe to be exact. And, of course, a Cher style homage must include long, stick-straight hair. Zendaya finished off the look with a stack of gold bangles. Et voilà: it’s giving Cher!
