Ulla Johnson to Unveil Custom-built In-store Installations at Neiman Marcus NorthPark in Dallas

Ulla Johnson will unveil two custom built in-store shoppable installations at Neiman Marcus NorthPark in Dallas, celebrating the new season and Johnson’s relationship with art.

The installation features a swirling monolith backdrop custom-built for the company’s fall 2024 runway show that took place at Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn, and repurposed for retail. It uses motifs from the collection and molder from paper pulp by Brooklyn-based artist Abby Cheney.

Ready-to-wear and accessories are displayed on handmade Douglas fir totems and plinths, and a bespoke rug, handmade in Morroco and in a custom Ulla Johnson print.

Johnson will be in Dallas Thursday for a private celebratory dinner at The Nasher Sculpture Garden with top customers and Neiman Marcus executives: Ryan Ross, president of Neiman Marcus and head of NMG Customer Insights, Lana Todorovich, chief merchandising officer, and Jodi Kahn, vice president, luxury fashion. There will be an in-store floral giveaway of a hand-tied bouquet on Thursday, while supplies last.

This is the first time that Johnson will be doing a customer event with a retail partner. The installation will be up for two weeks at the NorthPark store and then will travel globally to other retail partners.

“Through the strength of our relationships, we are able to connect our most coveted brand partners with our discerning customers,” said Todorovich. “We are honored that Ulla partnered with us for this exclusive customer event. Her spirited and feminine designs resonate deeply with our clients, and we are excited to continue to grow our partnership.”

Johnson added, “I’m delighted to present a little of our world at the heart of Neiman Marcus, with an installation at NorthPark, its hometown. Celebrating our partnership within the Nasher Sculpture Garden, an environment uplifting nature and contemporary art, feels at once familiar and inspiring. I’m so happy to meet our Dallas community.”
