French group Chargeurs PCC Fashion Technologies (Chargeurs), the world’s leading manufacturer of interlining and inner components for the apparel industry, has created a new division focused on shirt fabrics. Gianluca Tanzi and Giorgio Marcarino have respectively been appointed as president and CEO of the new division. Chargeurs has set up the shirting division following its recent acquisition from Swiss group Cilander of the Alumo, Brennet and Eugster & Huber brands, Switzerland’s most renowned and longest-established names in high-end shirt fabrics.

Gianluca Tanzi

“Our long experience and in-depth knowledge of both our products and the textile sector will be crucial to continue to expand the reach of Chargeurs PCC, whose portfolio, historically focused on internal components and interlining, has been extended to include fine fabrics for the shirting sector,” said Tanzi in a press release. “Combining Swiss and French know-how will enable us to further broaden our expertise and implement increasingly innovative solutions,” he added.

Marcarino said that “the new shirting division is a perfect fit with the business and growth strategy of Chargeurs PCC. We now have a unique cross-selling opportunity with our interlining products, giving the company a further performance boost and providing an increasingly comprehensive and customised service to our clients.”

Chargeurs is aiming to maximise the potential of the Alumo and Eugster & Huber brands, restoring their leadership position in the high-end shirting industry. As for Brennet, Chargeurs has triggered a repositioning plan with a focus on performance and innovation, seeking to respond to the growing demand by contemporary consumers for shirts made from high-quality fabrics.

Giorgio Marcarino

Tanzi is an experienced international executive who has devised and implemented successful retail, wholesale and e-commerce strategies for the textile, fashion and accessories industries in Europe and the USA. He has held various senior executive roles within prestigious fashion groups. In 2021, he was appointed president and CEO of Chargeurs PCC Fashion Technologies, and president of Chargeurs Luxury Fibers.

Marcarino has a decades-long experience in the high-end textile sector, having held leadership roles in the sales, operations and marketing departments of leading Italian textile groups. He joined Chargeurs PCC Fashion Technologies in 2022 as general manager EMEA, and was named chief commercial officer in 2023.
