The Logitech MX Master 3S is the culmination of years of evolution in mouse design.
The original MX Master launched in 2015 and instantly jumped to the top of the list of ergonomic and feature rich wireless mice. Horizontal scrolling, customisable buttons, and the most satisfying scroll wheel in the world meant this mouse was the one you wanted.
As an early adopter, I jumped on the hype train and I was not disappointed — the MX Master was my daily driver for years until an unfortunate meeting with the ground meant the end of our long-term relationship.

After a period of grief and mourning, I eventually upgraded to the MX Master 3S and it’s safe to say this mouse retains its title as the G.O.A.T in this space.
The technical bits
Over the years Logitech has refined the design culminating in the MX Master 3S. You can connect to up to three different computers, switching between them by pressing the button on the underside.
Using the LogiOptions+ software all six buttons and the two scroll wheels can be customised to do pretty much anything!
It really can’t be understated how good this software is, LogiOptions+ isn’t just powerful, it’s incredibly simple and intuitive to use making the idea of tricking out your mouse an approachable and easy endeavour.
In my own adventures, I have really come to love mapping the forward and back buttons to the zoom-in and out functions in Premiere Pro.
The horizontal scrolling for video editing is also a game changer (how did I ever edit without it?).
The Logitech MX Master 3S is a solid piece of kit tipping the scale at 141g and its ergonomic shape is perfect for those with bigger hands.
Our verdict
I would recommend it for anyone who needs a bit more comfort and maximum functionality from their mouse. The MX Master 3S comes in black, graphite and pale grey and is right now retailing for $130 on Amazon Australia.
The battery life on the Logitech peripherals have always been a standout and the MX Master 3S is no exception.
Logitech reports a whopping 70 days of battery life with three hours of use coming from just one minute of charging. Obviously these results are going to vary depending on use but in day-to-day use I’ve never needed to worry about battery — every couple of weeks I just plug it in over the weekend.
The long history of high performance has built a reputation for the MX Master. It’s so much more than a mouse.
