Dominnico Spain Spring 2025 Collection

At the Dominnico show, there were rumors of a change at the brand whose distinctive vision until now has been marked by leather, pastels, and plush textures. And so it happened. For spring, creative director Domingo Rodríguez Lázaro turned to preppy aesthetics, in all their complexity. “We wanted to develop the different stereotypical characters we can find in American university life: the cheerleader or the football player, but also other more party-oriented identities—different roles that we have presented in a super aesthetic, non-functional way, without giving up on that sensuality and sexuality always present in my garments,” he explained.

Polo shirts and bomber jackets became part of the Dominnico world through the use of his typical textures and colors. “When you picture a polo shirt, you wouldn’t imagine it as furry,” Rodriguez Lázaro added. “But we’ve used numbers or certain fonts to challenge the more conservative aspect of preppy—also by taking a navy blue or beige garment and combining it with sporty leggings or a latex cap.” Accessories were also a fundamental part of this new proposal, under the direction of Hugo Fernández Jiménez. There were football sneakers, leather gloves with laces and eyelets, pink belts, and new materials like latex, decorated with hand-drawn stars and numbers, which alluded to special dates in the brand’s history. There were also nods to the past, with the first garment he ever cut reinvented in all gray. Elsewhere, recycled biker pants were made from materials like fleece, rubber, or vinyl.

The aim was to explore the 2000s trend and push the look to the extreme, drawing inspiration from models and celebrities like Gisele Bündchen and Paris Hilton. This pop flavor exploded in a series of pink looks along with pieces tinted in black and white or cement gray. “The beauty look was about recreating the beauty of destruction: the beauty after a long after-hours party, after a wild, wild night… as if the models were coming home right after having sex or working out,” the designer concluded.
