Success Story: There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure. Every year, thousands of aspirants sit for competitive examinations such as Joint Entrance Examination(JEE), National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test(NEET), Civil Services Examination(UPSC CSE) with a sole to qualify the examination with good All India Rank(AIR). However, only a few are able to crack the competitive examination. Speaking on the same lines, read the inspirational story of Ved Lahoti, who secured the top position in the Joint Entrance Examination(JEE) Advanced and secured the highest-ever marks.
Ved Lahoti, an IIT Delhi zone topper scored 355 out of 360 marks. As per a report by Hindustan Times, Ved Lahoti’s father, Yogesh Lahoti is a construction manager at Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio, while his mother, Jaya Lahoti, is a homemaker. Ved draws his true inspiration from his mother, Jaya, and his grandfather, R.C. Somani.
In an interview with the news agency ANI, Lahoti shared insights into his study schedule and expressed his belief that social media is an unnecessary distraction and best avoided to optimise study time. He even emphasized the importance of qualitative over quantitative study. He avoided distractions like social media, considering it a waste of time. Lahoti advised aspirants to stay focused and consistent in their preparation, maintaining discipline to achieve success.
“..I never saw the clock while studying. I focused more on qualitative study. I kept myself away from social media because it is a waste of time. I just want to say that the aspirants should stay in touch with their families and take help of their teachers..,” the IIT JEE Delhi zone topper was quoted as saying to news agency ANI.

Speaking of his education qualification, Lahoti obtained 98.6 in Class 10. Later in Class 12, he scored 97.6%. He obtained 295 out of 300 marks in JEE Main 2024, earning an impressive All India Rank(AIR) of 119. During his early school years, he received international recognition, securing the second rank in the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO) in Classes 5 and 6. In Class 8, he further distinguished himself by winning a gold medal at the International Junior Science Olympiad.
