Sarah Di Lorenzo shares everything you need to know about eating well for strong healthy bones and osteoporosis 

Sarah Di Lorenzo joined us on Weekend Sunrise, speaking about bone health and osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis is a common disease in Australia, with 1.2 million people estimated to have osteoporosis and a further 6.3 million with low bone density.

Sarah says in her clinic and talks she often gets asked about bone health by her clients, especially older women who are looking to build up their bone strength.

Salmon and parsley fritters with salad and yoghurt dressing

Serves 4

Ingredients

1 x 425 gram tin of salmon, drained

1 egg

½ cup of almond flour

2 clove of garlic

Juice of 1 lemon

Zest of 1 lemon

2 tablespoons of fresh parsley chopped

1 tablespoon of dijon mustard

Pinch of red chilli flakes

Salt and pepper

1 tablespoon of olive oil

Salad

4 cups of leafy greens

1 chopped capsicum

1 cup of chopped cucumber (large)

1/2 chopped red onion

1 grated carrot

1/4 cup of mixed nuts to garnish

Yoghurt dressing

2/3 cup of greek yoghurt

1/2 cup finely chopped parsley

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

Juice of 1 lemon

Salt and pepper

Directions

Combine the salmon with the egg, almond flour, garlic lemon juice, lemon zest, dill and dijon, and chilli flakes, add salt and pepper and then with your make 4 patties.

Add the oil to the fry pan and cook the patties until golden.

Blitz the ingredients of the yoghurt in a food processor.

Serve with salad.

Add a drizzle of olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper over the salad ingredients.

Finish with the yoghurt dressing.
