Tamil Nadu rain: Rains lashed several parts of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, and the India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall for three more days in the state, starting November 27, when the deep depression is likely to become a cyclonic storm.
“For Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over Tamil Nadu & Puducherry on 26th & 27th and heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely on 28th and heavy rainfall at isolated places on 29th November,” IMD in its press release said.

According to a PTI report, Chief Minister M K Stalin chaired a high-level meeting here at the Secretariat to review the precautionary measures and directed deployment of NDRF and State teams in areas likely to receive heavy rainfall. In total, 17 teams have been deployed and it includes Chennai, Tiruvarur, Mayiladuthurai, Nagappatinam and Cuddalore and Thanjavur districts.
