Automobile sales numbers for November have been released, wherein Noel Tata led Tata Motors has improved its performance marginally.
Noel Tata led Tata Motors Ltd on Sunday reported a marginal increase in overall sales at 74,753 units in November as compared to 74,172 units in the same month last year.
Total domestic sales were up 1 per cent at 73,246 units last month as against 72,647 units in November 2023, Tata Motors said in a statement.
Total passenger vehicle (PV) sales, including EVs, were at 47,117 units as compared to 46,143 units in the year-ago month, up 2 per cent, it added.
Similarly, domestic PV sales, including EVs were up 2 per cent at 47,063 units as against 46,068 units in November 2023. Total commercial vehicles sales last month were down 1 per cent at 27,636 units as against 28,029 units in the same period last year.
Following Ratan Tata’s demise, his half-brother Noel Tata, was picked as the new chairman of Tata Trusts, an umbrella group of charities which holds 66% stake in Tata Sons which is the holding company of Tata Group.
Automobile Sales Performance In November
Hyundai Motors India
- Total Sales: 61,252 units (YoY decline of 6.9%, Est. 64,000)
Hyundai missed sales estimates, reporting a year-on-year decline. However, the company achieved a significant milestone with its highest-ever monthly rural contribution, now at 22.1%.
Hero MotoCorp
- Total Sales: 4.60 lakh units (YoY decline of 6%, Est. 4.75 lakh)
Despite a record festive retail season, Hero MotoCorp’s sales fell short of expectations, with a notable year-on-year decrease.
TVS Motor Company
Two-Wheeler Sales: 3.92 lakh units (YoY growth of 11%, Est. 3.85 lakh)
Total Sales: 4.01 lakh units (YoY growth of 10%, Est. 3.95 lakh)
TVS Motor surpassed expectations, driven by robust growth in both two-wheeler and overall sales.
Bajaj Auto
Two-Wheeler Sales: 3.68 lakh units (YoY growth of 5%, Est. 3.64 lakh)
Total Sales: 4.22 lakh units (YoY growth of 5%, Est. 4.26 lakh)
Bajaj Auto met projections, delivering steady growth in both two-wheeler and total sales figures.
Eicher Motors
Royal Enfield Sales: 82,257 units (YoY growth of 2%, Est. 83,000)
VECV Sales: 5,574 units (YoY growth of 7%, Est. 6,400)
Eicher Motors fell slightly below expectations, with minor misses in both Royal Enfield and VECV sales.
Escorts Kubota
Tractor Sales: 8,974 units (YoY decline of 9.4%, Est. 7,000)
Despite a year-on-year drop in tractor sales, Escorts Kubota outperformed estimates, reporting a strong showing overall.
