From new Honda Amaze to Kia Syros, check out the list of cars launching this month

As the year 2024 comes to a close, several car manufacturers are gearing up to launch new models in December. Honda, Toyota, Kia, and Hyundai are among the prominent brands preparing to introduce vehicles, with some unveiling new entrants to their portfolios. Although December may witness fewer facelifts and launches than earlier months, it will feature new nameplates and next-generation updates to popular models.

Skoda recently launched its first subcompact SUV, the Kylaq, priced between Rs 7.89 lakh and Rs 14.4 lakh. Built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, the Kylaq measures under four meters in length and competes with models like Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. It is powered by a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol engine delivering 115 hp and 178 Nm of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The SUV boasts several premium features, including an 8.0-inch digital cluster, a 10.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated seats, a single-pane sunroof, and a six-speaker Canton sound system. On the safety front, it includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, and ISOFIX mounts.

The third-generation Honda Amaze is set to debut on December 4, introducing an updated design and enhanced interior with improved safety features. Prices are expected to start at ₹7.8 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Amaze borrows styling cues from the Honda Elevate and City, featuring an upright grille, sleek LED headlights, and a reimagined bumper. While its side profile remains similar to the outgoing version, the rear design echoes the Honda City’s aesthetic. Inside, the Amaze incorporates a free-standing infotainment system, digital cluster, and advanced safety systems such as ADAS. It retains the 90 hp, 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual or CVT.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor will launch the ninth-generation Toyota Camry on December 11. This sedan, priced at an estimated ₹48 lakh (ex-showroom), will be imported via the CKD route, with deliveries beginning in 2025. The redesigned Camry features an evolutionary design language, with updated headlights, a honeycomb grille, and minor rear enhancements. The interior is fully revamped, offering a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a JBL audio system, dual-zone climate control, and ADAS features. Under the hood, the Camry continues with its 2.5-liter hybrid petrol engine, delivering 218 PS and 221 Nm of torque, paired with an eCVT gearbox.

Finally, Kia India will unveil the Syros on December 19, positioned between the Sonet and Seltos. Teasers reveal a boxy silhouette with a flat roof and upright rear for optimized cabin space. The SUV incorporates vertically stacked LED headlamps, L-shaped taillights, and flush-fitting door handles, drawing inspiration from the EV9 and Carnival MPV. Inside, it shares similarities with the Sonet but introduces features like a panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, and ADAS capabilities. Powertrain options are expected to mirror the Sonet, including 1.2-liter NA petrol, 1.0-liter turbo petrol, and 1.5-liter diesel engines with multiple transmission choices.
