Jonathan Anderson, founder of London-based JW Anderson and creative director of Loewe, has been signed to UTA, the global talent, entertainment, sports and advisory company.
The designer’s most recent collaboration was with film producer and director Luca Guadagnino for whom he designed costumes for both “Queer” and “Challengers.”
A Northern Ireland native, Anderson, 40, founded his eponymous fashion label in 2008 at the age of 24. In 2013, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton acquired a minority stake in JW Anderson and appointed him as the creative director of the Spanish fashion house Loewe.
During his tenure at Loewe and JW Anderson, the designer has received numerous awards, including being named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2024. He was also honored Monday night as Designer of the Year by the British Fashion Council for his work with both JW Anderson and Loewe, a title he also received last year. In 2023, he was awarded the CFDA’s International Designer of the Year Award and recognized as GQ’s Designer of the Year.
In 2023, Anderson dressed Rihanna in Loewe for her Super Bowl halftime show; unveiled one of the most acclaimed collections during London Fashion Week with his JW Anderson brand, and scooped up the Neiman Marcus Award for Creative Impact in the Field of Fashion.
Anderson is an avid art collector and trustee of the Victoria & Albert Museum. In 2016, he founded the Loewe Foundation Craft Prize, an international award celebrating independent artisans across ceramics, woodworking, basket weaving, textile art and jewelry design.
“We are excited and honored to welcome Jonathan to UTA,” said Blair Kohan, UTA board member and partner. “He is a gifted designer whose visionary work has shaped fashion and culture for over a decade. We look forward to supporting him as he expands his creative influence in all forms of storytelling, building on his already extraordinary success.”
