New continent, new manicure — that’s what I always say. OK, I’ve literally never said that, it but based on context clues, it’s one of Hailey Bieber‘s unspoken beauty rules. Even though it seems like only yesterday that she was wearing the prettiest mirror glaze manicure — because it was yesterday — Bieber used a trip to Japan as a very valid excuse to switch up her nails. And while it seems everyone else is ready for fall manis, the model and entrepreneur is showing that she strongly believes autumn doesn’t begin until later this month.
Bieber attended the opening of Tiffany & Co.’s new store in the Omotesando area of Tokyo on Tuesday, September 12, wearing a sleek, black dress and equally sleek updo. She posed to draw attention to the incredible bracelets and rings she was wearing — this is a Tiffany & Co. event after all — but that also gave us a great opportunity to see her summery nails.
The almond shape was painted with a beige base and lemon-yellow French tips, which would have been a fun twist on the traditional look if she stopped there. Instead, her nail artist — who she didn’t tag in her Instagram post — created an airbrushed aura effect in the center of each nail in a citrusy highlighter hue, with the color most concentrated in the center and diffusing out toward the edges.
The nails are a fantastic match for what we’re guessing is a yellow diamond on her pointer finger, so perhaps we’re looking at the beginning of a match-your-manicure-to-your-enormous-prescious-gemstone trend.
