Redmi: Redmi Note 13 series to launch in China on September 21: What to expect

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is set to expand its Redmi lineup with new smartphones. The company has shared a post on the Chinese social media platform Weibo to confirm the launch date of the upcoming smartphone series. Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi Note 13 series will be launched in its home market on September 21. The smartphone lineup will include two models — Redmi Note 13 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus.

Xiaomi has also revealed that both smartphones will sport a second-generation glossy display that will support eye protection features and a 1.5K resolution. The company also mentioned that the new display will use the latest flagship luminescent materials and will support a peak brightness of 1800nits, a 1920Hz PWM dimming and high-brightness DC dimming for eye protection. Xiaomi has also confirmed that the panel that will come with the Redmi Note 13 series has received triple TUV Rheinland eye protection certification. This will help in reducing eye strain and fatigue.
The company has already shared posters of both smartphones on Weibo. These posters have revealed the designs of the upcoming models. The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus will sport a curved screen, while the Pro will arrive with a flat display. According to a report by GizmoChina, both phones are likely to have AMOLED displays with in-screen fingerprint sensors.

Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is also confirmed to come powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200-Ultra chip, while the Pro model will feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset.
The Pro+ model is also expected to feature a leather back that will have raised camera rings, while the Pro will likely have a glass back with a raised camera island. Both smartphones are also said to feature a 200MP main camera, but only the Pro Plus variant will get optical image stabilisation (OIS).
Redmi Note 13 Pro is also expected to pack a smaller 5,000mAh battery that may support 67W fast charging. Meanwhile, the Pro Plus option is likely to pack a bigger 5,120mAh battery that may arrive with 120W fast charging capabilities.
