2024 KTM 390 Duke: No ‘clickbait’ walkaround | TOI Auto
The new model looks mean and is inspired by the bigger Super Duke bikes. This is evident in the extended fuel tank shrouds. Even the new headlamp unit gets additional plastic panels on either side that house the LED DRLs. The ground clearance of the bike has been increased to 183 mm and there is a new underslung exhaust. With a lighter engine, exhaust and wheels, the new 390 Duke weighs just 168 kg, which is 4 kg less than the outgoing model. This weight saving has been done despite the bike having a larger 15-litre fuel tank now. Also, the rear monoshock has been offset to accommodate a larger air box to help the bike breathe freely.
Powering the new 390 Duke is a new 399 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which produces a higher power and torque figure. The bike now makes 45.4 hp @ 8500 rpm and 39 Nm @ 6000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the new 390 Duke also gets a bi-directional quickshifter. To help cool the engine better, there is a dual-fan radiator that has a larger surface area. Other features additions include three riding modes, cornering ABS, a new 5-inch TFT instrument cluster, launch control and adjustable front and rear suspension.
