Taapsee Pannu buys Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 worth Rs 2.9 crore: Why it costs a bomb

Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu has brought home a brand-new Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 worth a whopping Rs 2.92 crore (ex-showroom), finished in the Mojave Silver single-tone paint scheme. In a post on Instagram, Mercedes-Benz Landmark Cars, Mumbai posted an image of the actress with her new ride, the swanky GLS 600 with a large red ribbon on the bonnet.
The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is the flagship SUV offering for the brand in India, with an on-road price going up to a mind-boggling Rs 4 crore, depending upon the level of customisation the buyer opts for. The 3.2-tonne luxury SUV gets a massive 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine putting out 550 hp of maximum power and 730 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The luxurious SUV has a respectable top-speed of 250 kmph, and comes with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive configuration.

The Maybach brand name denotes the highest level of opulence offered by Mercedes-Benz, reserved for the GLS SUV and its sedan counterpart i.e. S-Class. The kit on offer includes a four-zone climate control, automatically extending side steps, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive air suspension, heated and ventilated front and rear seats with memory function, massaging seats, a rear seat tablet, Burmester sound system, 22-inch wheels, dual 12.3-inch digital displays with MBUX system, and much more.
Optional extras include E-Active Body Control active air suspension, folding rear tables, rear-seat entertainment, Burmester 3D surround sound system, head-up display, power-adjustable individual rear seats, a refrigerated compartment, champagne flute holder, etc.
