A report from 9to5Google sheds some light on how much the new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones could cost. The Pixel 8 could bear the same price tag of $699, while the Pixel 8 could come at a starting price of $999, a $100 price increase for both models compared to last year. The Pixel 7 was launched at a starting price of $599, while the Pixel 7 Pro started at $899.
In the UK, the Pixel 8 will be priced from £699, and The Pixel 8 Pro is expected to cost £999, according to tipster Roland Quant. The Pixel Watch 2 is anticipated to be priced at £349.
We expect a similar price increase in India. Last year, the Pixel 7 was launched at Rs 59,999, and the Pixel 8 Pro was priced at Rs 84,999.
The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are set to go on pre-orders on October 4 in the US, and the sale is expected to begin on October 12. Meanwhile, in India, the two phones will be available to pre-order starting October 5 through Flipkart. However, there is no word on when the phones will be available to purchase.
Google is also bringing the Pixel Watch 2 to India, though there is no word on the pricing yet.
In the teaser video titled “The W8 is Almost Over,” Google gives out the reveal date for the second time. Coming on October 4 are the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Watch 2. The Pixel 8 is shown in Rose with a matte finish, while the Pixel 8 Pro is in Porcelain with a glossy finishing and a temperature sensor. The Pixel 8 appears smaller than the Pro, but the video doesn’t reveal the front of the phone. Rumours suggest that there may be upgrades to the cameras, display, and chip for the Pixel 8 series.
